Job summary

Protocol Labs, Inc. seeks a computational biologist to bridge AI systems and wet labs. You will QA high-volume AI outputs, translate predictions into lab-ready protocols, and build validation pipelines to prevent costly experiments.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD in computational biology or related field, are proficient in Python or R, and can evaluate complex biological predictions at the software–biology interface. This remote role offers equity options.

Qualifications

• PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related field.
• Proficient in Python and/or R for data analysis.
• Experience with computational validation methods (simulations, structural/sequence analysis).
• Strong critical thinking to evaluate AI-generated biological predictions.
• Experience interfacing software with wet-lab workflows.

Responsibilities

• QA AI outputs using simulations, structural analysis, and database checks.
• Translate AI predictions into executable lab protocols and CRO specs.
• Build and maintain validation pipelines to catch errors early.
• Manage hand-offs between digital predictions and physical experiments.
• Transform JSON outputs from agents into experimental procedures.
