AI Technologist
Job Summary

Rollins College Information Technology Department seeks an AI Technologist to join their team.

Responsibilities
  • Faculty Collaboration and Learning Support:
    • Collaborate with faculty to understand their needs and integrate AI tools into face‑to‑face, blended, and hyflex modalities.
    • Partner to support multimodal class assignments, providing resources, class trainings, and student support.
    • Develop AI use cases and conduct workshops, training sessions, and events that build fluency in AI and broader instructional technology tools.
    • Create and maintain a library of tutorials, guides, videos, and infographics supporting AI tools for faculty, students, and staff.
    • Provide ongoing technical support for the college’s LMS (Canvas) and other tools such as Kaltura, WordPress, Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams and Copilot), Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.
  • Future‑Ready Technology Leadership:
    • Embed best practices in accessibility, UDL, ethical use of AI, and inclusion into instructional technology and resource development.
    • Promote these standards through advisory and practical support.
    • Act as a dynamic change agent, staying up‑to‑date with AI trends and best practices.
    • Explore and evaluate new and emerging AI tools for teaching, learning, and institutional operations.
    • Manage AI tool licenses, subscriptions, user access, renewals, and usage records.
  • Team Collaboration and Project Management:
    • Work cohesively with the instructional technology team and the broader IT department.
    • Use project management software to plan, coordinate, and execute individual and team‑based projects.
    • Guide ethical and effective use of AI, including AI‑assisted content creation, for faculty, students, and staff.
    • Create and maintain AI newsletters communicating emerging trends and tools.
Minimum Qualifications & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience using AI tools and supporting their adoption across an organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with education software and systems.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
  • Classroom teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Communication & Visual Design: Ability to design user‑friendly, accessible, visually appealing resources (PPTs, infographics, social media posts, video shorts). Communicate effectively with diverse groups and interpret user issues even when expressed without technical clarity.
  • Instructional Design & Pedagogy: Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning and instructional design theories. Understand online, hybrid, and hyflex teaching strategies, apply research on teaching and learning, and address ethical considerations around AI use.
  • Collaboration: Identify, develop, and facilitate engaging, accessible, user‑centered professional development for faculty, staff, and students. Work well with diverse disciplines and make independent judgments within guidelines.
  • Organization & Adaptability: Adapt to new technologies, especially emerging AI tools, and assist others. Strong project management skills, flexible schedule, and willingness to work extended hours and weekends.
  • Technical Expertise & Tools: Familiarity with a wide range of academic technologies, Generative AI, LMS, WordPress, podcasting, video tools, Adobe Creative Cloud, advanced troubleshooting for Mac and PC, HTML, and Microsoft Excel.

  • Campus‑based, front‑facing customer service position in Winter Park, FL.
