Job Summary

We are seeking an AI&T Precision Cleaning Technician to conduct assembly, cleaning, and reassembly of aerospace hardware, prepare components for use in oxygen and ground support systems, and perform performance/functional testing. The role involves the use of hazardous materials and pressurized gases and requires adherence to documented safety procedures and NASA standards for precision cleaning.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Repair, maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of space suit life support components, test rigs, and other equipment.
• Assembly, disassembly, and performance/functional testing of aerospace hardware.
• Processing parts to specified levels of cleanliness using precision ultrasonic, acid, and caustic cleaning methods.
• Maintain precision cleaning lab equipment and ensure consistent operation.
• Adhere to safety policies, use required personal protective equipment, and perform tasks per documented procedures.
• Interface daily with customers, technicians, engineers, logistics, and bond room personnel to coordinate work.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• 15–20 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Precision cleaning experience with xEMU/EMU and verification of cleanliness levels.
• Experience with NASA standards for precision cleaning and verification of contamination control requirements.
• Familiarity with NASA documentation and the use of standard precision tools and measuring devices.
• Ability to work with external organizations such as NASA Engineering, Safety, and Quality.
• Track record of delivering outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environments; ability to problem‑solve proactively.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency; willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Successful completion of a U.S. government background investigation.
