Job summary

Command Post Technologies, Inc. seeks an AI Systems Engineer to design, build, and deliver practical AI and ML solutions across internal research and business applications.

The role blends hands-on software development with deep learning and systems architecture to enable secure, on‑premises, air‑gapped, and edge deployments. The ideal candidate will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with leaders to strengthen CPT's AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years professional development, including 3 years ML/LLM deployment.
• Strong Python proficiency with tested, maintainable code.
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch or similar framework.
• Solid ML fundamentals: data prep, evaluation, generalization; transformer knowledge.
• Experience deploying models/LLMs behind APIs with latency/throughput considerations.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-based workflows/agents with tool integration, retries, etc.
• Knowledge of AI security: least-privilege access, secrets, audit logs, prompt-injection risks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-enabled applications and solutions.
• Create AI systems leveraging LLMs, autonomous workflows, tool integration, agentic solutions.
• Develop AI-driven automation to improve operational efficiency.
• Build and integrate AI agents using commercial/open-source platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to identify AI use cases.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and propose innovative approaches to challenges.
• Develop technical docs, demos, prototypes, and proofs-of-concept.
• Support customer engagements and solution demonstrations.
