Job summary

Kraan Bear IT Solutions seeks an AI Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join the CAIO team in Alexandria, VA. This role shapes Army AI initiatives and drives transformative implementations across strategic environments.

You will lead strategic AI programs, oversee complex projects, evaluate requirements, standardize data and AI practices, and ensure compliant documentation for government reviews, leveraging your DoD TS/SCI clearance and extensive software development background.

Qualifications

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance required.
• Minimum 10+ years of software development experience with full lifecycle (analysis to maintenance).
• Proficiency in JavaScript and backend languages (Python/Java/Node.js).
• Experience with AWS and containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of SDLC and data/AI standards.

Kwaan Bear IT Solutions is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced AI Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) team. Together, we'll shape the future of the Army's AI initiatives. This role offers a thrilling chance to work alongside AI experts, Enterprise Architects, and data scientists to drive transformative implementations across strategic and operational environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Craft and execute an innovative AI strategy that will revolutionize the Army Intelligence Enterprise. Your vision will guide technology solutions and set the standard for excellence.
• Technical Oversight & Project Management: Lead high-impact AI projects from conception to completion. Your expertise will ensure seamless project planning and the successful execution of complex technical activities.
• Research & Innovation: Spearhead cutting-edge research initiatives and explore advanced AI projects. Stay at the forefront of technology by assessing and integrating emerging innovations from industry, academia, and external agencies to enhance Army Intelligence capabilities.
• Requirements & Feasibility Analysis: Define and evaluate AI and data system requirements to ensure they meet technical feasibility, functional adequacy, and align with evolving Army materiel requirements.
• Enterprise Standardization: Collaborate with data teams to establish, enforce, and maintain data and AI standards across the Intelligence Enterprise, ensuring consistency and excellence.
• Documentation & Compliance: Create comprehensive AI documentation that meets Government review and approval standards, ensuring all technical materials are of the highest quality.

Qualifications:

• An active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• 10+ years of experience in software development (analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance) and a bachelor's degree.
• In-depth understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (including front and back end).
• AWS Experience.
• Proficiency in JavaScript.
• Backend development experience with common languages like Python, Java, Node.JS, etc.
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes for deploying and managing AI applications.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to problems.
• Demonstrated technical innovation in supporting business objectives and mission.
• Strong knowledge of AI, including feasibility analysis and performance requirements.
