Job summary

Noblis is seeking an AI Solutions Architect (Lead) IV to design and oversee end-to-end enterprise AI architectures in Chantilly, VA. You will translate business requirements into scalable, secure systems, and lead the implementation of agentic AI solutions across data sources.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and CI polygraph.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree with 10+ years of progressive experience.
• 4+ years designing, deploying, and operating AI systems, incl. agentic systems.
• 4+ years AI and/or data engineering, incl. data pipelines and microservices.
• Deep expertise in Python, agent frameworks, APIs, backend engineering, vector databases, SQL, and cloud services.
• Experience with LLM-based systems, RAG, tool-calling, and multi-agent patterns.
• Knowledge of embeddings, vector search, orchestration layers, memory, and reasoning workflows.
• Working knowledge of DevOps tools and principles.

Responsibilities

Noblis is looking for an AI Solutions Architect (Lead) IV to support our customer in Chantilly, VA.

In this role, you will design and oversee end-to-end enterprise AI architectures — translating business requirements into scalable, secure, production-ready systems. You'll lead the technical design and implementation of agentic AI systems that orchestrate user queries across diverse data sources. Working closely with development, DevOps, and data engineering teams, you'll take AI architectures from prototype to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Define overall system architecture, solution patterns, standards, and reference architectures for enterprise AI systems — selecting and governing the right technologies to ensure scalability, security, and production readiness.


• Lead platform and model integration across cloud services (Azure, AWS, or GCP), APIs, vector databases, orchestration frameworks, embeddings, vector search, memory, and reasoning workflows.


• Architect multi-step, agentic workflows involving retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool-calling, multi-agent orchestration, and automated reasoning loops across heterogeneous data sources.


• Design and deploy large language model-based systems, including prompt strategy management, model evaluation, and system traceability and reliability mechanisms.


• Guide engineering and data teams through delivery from prototype to production, translating requirements into extensible AI architectures and ensuring cross-functional alignment.


• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend optimal technology stacks, balancing innovation with enterprise stability and governance requirements.


• Ensure system scalability, security, and governance by applying responsible AI principles and enterprise security frameworks throughout the architecture lifecycle.


• Communicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, and technical strategies to executives and technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required


• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and ability to obtain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.


• Bachelors or Masters degree with 10+ years of progressive experience.


• Minimum of 4 years of experience designing, deploying, and operating AI systems, including agentic systems, with a proven track record delivering production-grade AI architectures.


• Minimum of 4 years of experience in AI and/or data engineering, including data pipelines, distributed systems, and microservice architectures.


• Deep expertise in Python, agent frameworks, API design, backend engineering, vector databases, SQL engines, and cloud services.


• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying LLM-based systems, including RAG, tool-calling, and multi-agent patterns, with proven ability to evaluate models, manage prompt strategies, and design systems for traceability and reliability.


• Strong understanding of modern AI architectures including embeddings, vector search, orchestration layers, memory, and reasoning workflows.


• Working knowledge of DevOps tools and principles

Compensation

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract‑specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on‑call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.

USD $132,900.00 - USD $207,750.00 /Yr.
