Job summary

Firefly Aerospace, Inc. is seeking an AI Solutions Software Engineer to design, build, and ship AI-powered tools that streamline manufacturing and business operations company-wide.

You will operationalize AI systems for design, manufacturing, and operations, collaborating with teams across departments to translate complex business needs into elegant technical solutions. The role is housed in an Agile/Scrum environment and focuses on improving AI/ML capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of software development experience with cross-platform integration.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering, IT, or related discipline (4+ years may replace).
• Solid knowledge of AI/ML best practices, design patterns, and architecture.
• Proficiency in Python backend frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django).
• Experience building and consuming APIs and working with data across databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and ship AI-powered tools and in-house applications.
• Develop and operationalize AI systems for production automation and quality control.
• Build and maintain MLOps pipelines for model evaluation and reliability.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to translate business needs into solutions.
• Author technical docs, specs, and user guides meeting audit requirements.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum processes and support training of AI products.
