Job summary

Jobtailor in Charlotte, NC seeks a Security Engineer to design and deploy security controls for AI/ML systems, including guardrails and data/platform protections. You will implement IaC with Terraform and CloudFormation, and integrate CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) to secure AI workloads on AWS and Azure.

You will collaborate with platform teams, perform security assessments, and help evolve AI security standards in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years in security engineering or related cybersecurity roles.
• Hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms.
• Experience building and securing CI/CD pipelines and IaC-based deployments.
• Familiarity with AI/ML security controls and production safeguards.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and deploy security controls for AI/ML and Generative AI systems at model, data, and platform levels.
• Implement AI guardrails and safety controls (prompt injection defenses, content safety filters, policy enforcement).
• Support secure onboarding of AI platforms for internal teams per standards and review processes.
• Perform technical security assessments of AI systems and cloud-hosted AI services.
• Design and implement IaC using Terraform and CloudFormation, and build/maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) for security tooling.
• Automate security operations with Python and scripting; secure, scalable cloud environments across AWS and Azure.
• Integrate cloud security tooling (Wiz, Purview, Sentinel) for visibility and control of AI assets.
• Secure containerized workloads (ECS, EKS) and Kubernetes-based AI pipelines; collaborate with platform teams and governance stakeholders.
