Job summary

TTN Talent in Seattle, WA, is seeking senior AI researchers to advance reinforcement learning and frontier model research. The role spans hands-on experimentation through to owning the research roadmap and building a team.

Hybrid work arrangement requires three days in-office. Salary ranges from $300,000 to $750,000 depending on level and experience, with opportunities to publish, release models and achieve strong benchmark results.

Qualifications

• Experience in reinforcement learning, post-training or frontier model training.
• Led applied research or research teams in a strong AI environment.
• Trained models with RL, preference optimisation or SFT and analysed impactful signals.
• Published notable research or released models with strong benchmark performance.

Responsibilities

• Own the research roadmap from hands-on experiments to delivery.
• Build and mentor a research team, coordinating across research and execution.
• Translate unclear problems into experiments, datasets and measurable outcomes.

Job description

• Do you have hands-on experience in reinforcement learning, post-training or frontier model training?
• Have you worked as an Applied Researcher, Research Scientist or Research Lead within a strong AI research environment?
• Have you trained models using approaches such as RL, preference optimisation or SFT and analysed the signals that actually improve capability?
• Have you published notable research, released models, or delivered work that performed strongly on recognised benchmarks?
• Can you operate across research and execution, turning unclear research problems into experiments, datasets, environments and measurable outcomes?
• Are you looking to deepen your research ownership, or a senior researcher ready to lead and build a team?

If you answer yes to all of the above, then this confidential opportunity could be the one for you. In addition, while not essential, experience working at a frontier lab and / or a PhD with an RL focus are highly desirable.

This is a rare opportunity to join an early-stage AI company working directly on reinforcement learning, post-training and training data for frontier models. There are opportunities for both experienced Applied Researchers and senior research leaders, with scope ranging from hands-on experimentation through to owning the research roadmap and building a team.
