Job summary

Fermilab seeks an Artificial Intelligence Associate to develop and apply AI/ML techniques to unique experimental datasets and models. You will work on multiple projects spanning theory, particle physics, cosmology, and lab operations, with a potential for promotion to AI researcher staff.

The role is onsite in Batavia, typically a 1-year term with possible extension, and offers opportunities for advancement as projects mature and performance is demonstrated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, master's, or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related computing or physics field; up to 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
• Proven experience with Python applied to software development, system integration, deployment, orchestration, or data ingestion.

Responsibilities

• Developing and applying AI/ML algorithms for research and operations projects at Fermilab.
• Researching, identifying, and refining project solutions and providing analytics.
• Providing regular reporting of analysis and progress.
• You may be asked to perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
• Adhering to environmental, health and safety regulations and practices.
