Job description

A High-Signal Career Opportunity in AI Product: AI Product Manager roles at well-funded, data-centric companies are among the most sought-after positions in tech right now. YipitData's $1B+ valuation and Carlyle Group backing signal financial stability and growth runway—not a typical early-stage risk profile.

Compensation vs. Market:

The $140K–$150K base plus a 10% performance bonus and equity is competitive but sits at the lower-to-mid range for senior AI PMs in the US market, where top-quartile roles at similar companies command $160K–$200K+. Equity could be meaningful given the valuation, but details (vesting, strike price) matter—ask during negotiation.

Skills You’ll Build:
  • LLM product development—one of the fastest-appreciating skill sets in tech
  • Experience with AI agent architectures, MCPs, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
  • Domain knowledge of financial markets and institutional investor workflows—a rare and lucrative niche
  • 0→1 product thinking in an ambiguous, high-stakes environment
Green Flags:

Meritocratic culture (merit over tenure), flexible hours, strong learning investment, and Inc. Best Workplace recognition three years running. The role has real ownership scope—not a feature-factory PM job.

Red Flags to Watch:

"We compress years of learning into months" can mean rapid growth or high burnout. The pace expectations are real. Also, note that income may be subject to NY state tax withholding regardless of where you live—a financial consideration worth modeling out.

Career Trajectory:

This role positions you squarely in the AI product leadership pipeline—ideal for those eyeing a Director of Product or Head of AI Product role within 2–3 years.

About Us:

YipitData is the leading market research and analytics firm for the disruptive economy and most recently raised $475M from The Carlyle Group at a valuation of over $1B. Every day, our proprietary technology analyzes billions of alternative data points to uncover actionable insights across sectors like software, AI, cloud, e-commerce, ridesharing, and payments.

Our data and research teams transform raw data into strategic intelligence, delivering accurate, timely, and deeply contextualized analysis that our customers—ranging from the world's top investment funds to Fortune 500 companies—depend on to drive high-stakes decisions. From sourcing and licensing novel datasets to rigorous analysis and expert narrative framing, our teams ensure clients get not just data, but clarity and confidence.

We operate globally with offices in the US, APAC, and India. Our award-winning, people-centric culture—including Inc. as a Best Workplace for three consecutive years—emphasizes transparency, ownership, and continuous mastery.

What It’s Like to Work at YipitData:

YipitData isn't a place for coasting—it's a launchpad for ambitious, impact-driven professionals. From day one, you'll take the lead on meaningful work, accelerate your growth, and gain exposure that shapes careers.

Why Top Talent Chooses YipitData:
  • Ownership That Matters: You'll lead high-impact projects with real business outcomes
  • Rapid Growth: We compress years of learning into months
  • Merit Over Titles: Trust and responsibility are earned through execution, not tenure
  • Velocity with Purpose: We move fast, support each other, and aim high—always with purpose and intention

If your ambition is matched by your work ethic—and you're hungry for a place where growth, impact, and ownership are the norm—YipitData might be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

About This Role

We're hiring an AI Product Manager to build the next generation of investor-facing products powered by AI. You'll sit on the Public Investor team, owning products that help institutional investors turn complex data into faster, higher-conviction decisions. This includes AI-powered workflows across:

  • AI agents for research and analysis
  • Data feeds and programmatic access

This is not a traditional PM role. You'll operate at the intersection of AI capabilities, user workflows, and proprietary data, defining how cutting-edge models translate into real investor value. You'll work directly with investors, researchers, and engineers to design systems that don't just surface insights, but actively assist, automate, and augment decision-making. We have unmatched data. What we need is world-class user experience to unlock it—so customers can turn our insights into value at scale. That's where you come in.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own AI product strategy for investor workflows: Define how AI transforms the way public market investors consume, analyze, and act on data.
  • Build AI-native products, not just features: Design end-to-end experiences across agents, copilots, and structured outputs—not just UI layers on top of models.
  • Translate frontier AI into real-world utility: Evaluate and integrate LLMs, retrieval systems, and agent architectures into production-grade products.
  • Work directly with customers: Partner with hedge funds and asset managers to deeply understand workflows, pain points, and trust requirements.
  • Drive rapid experimentation and iteration: Run tight feedback loops across prompts, evals, and product UX to continuously improve performance and usefulness.
  • Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with engineering, data, research, and design to ship high-quality, high-impact products, while communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Define quality, reliability, and trust: Establish evaluation frameworks for AI outputs, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and investor-grade reliability.
  • Shape the future of the platform: Contribute to how MCPs, agents, and APIs evolve into a unified, reliable, and safe AI product ecosystem.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 4–6+ years of product management or similar experience
  • Experience building AI copilots, agents, or internal AI tools
  • Familiarity with how AI/ML models and AI agents are built and maintained
  • Strong product instincts with a track record of building 0→1 or ambiguous products
  • Strong user research and customer discovery skills with deep curiosity about AI systems (LLMs, agents, retrieval, evals)
  • Generalist knowledge of both engineering and design
  • Able to design and evaluate prompts, contexts, and model behaviors
  • Analytical thinker, comfortable with data and experimentation
  • Great communicator and collaborator
  • High ownership mindset with a bias toward action and learning
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with financial markets or investor workflows
  • Experience with data platforms, APIs, or developer-facing products
  • Background in analytics, research, or quantitative environments
What We Offer:
  • The annual base salary for this position is anticipated to be $140,000–$150,000, with a 10% performance bonus, and equity.
  • We care about your personal life, and we mean it. We offer flexible work hours, flexible vacation, a generous 401K match, parental leave, team events, wellness budget, learning reimbursement, and more!
  • Your growth at YipitData is determined by the impact that you are making, not by tenure, unnecessary facetime, or office politics. Everyone at YipitData is empowered to learn, self-improve, and master their skills in an environment focused on ownership, respect, and trust.
