Job summary

Artemis is building the future of AI-driven defense, detecting and defending against evolving cyber threats for customers in the US. The Security Research Engineer will drive detection research, threat hunting, and AI-powered automation, shaping how threats are caught and prevented.

You'll analyze cloud, identity, and SaaS data sources, build AI-assisted detections, and perform authorized simulations to validate coverage.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience.
• Experience in incident response across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and identity providers (Okta, Entra ID).
• Ability to translate security research into actionable detections or threat-hunt investigations.
• Strong communication skills—able to explain technical findings to engineers and customers.
• Experience with detection engineering at scale.
• Bonus: SOC environment or Managed Detection and Response experience; familiarity with SIEM/EDR/SOAR; customer-facing tech experience; AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI-powered detection tooling to accelerate detection creation, tuning, and validation at scale.
• Conduct security research across cloud, identity, and SaaS data sources to identify detection opportunities.
• Perform authorized attack simulations to validate detection coverage and identify gaps in defenses.
• Hunt for threats across customer environments using our platform and tooling.
• Investigate security incidents to demonstrate product value and refine detection logic.
• Engage with customers on calls to present analyses and gather product feedback.
• Tune detections to reduce false positives based on real-world data.
