Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a Chief Software Engineer to lead an AI-powered financial assistant platform.

You will steer end-to-end engineering, define scalable backend architectures, and partner with business users to rapidly iterate on chat, reporting, and bespoke investment interfaces. You will mentor engineers, enforce high standards, and drive cloud-native delivery using AWS, Kubernetes, and FastAPI, while advancing GenAI workloads and AI-assisted development in a fast-paced, globally

Qualifications

7+ years of software engineering with advanced Python development.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of an AI-powered assistant platform from concept to production.
Design scalable service architectures and define reliability, security, and performance requirements.
Build backend APIs and services in Python using FastAPI to support chat and reporting workflows.
Integrate LLM capabilities and apply AI-assisted development methods to accelerate delivery.
Translate high-level goals into detailed requirements, edge cases, and implementation plans.
Collaborate directly with business users to test, refine, and ship iterative product improvements.
Implement automated testing, observability, and incident-ready practices to maintain quality.
Deploy and operate services using cloud infrastructure and container orchestration.
Review code and enforce engineering standards for maintainability and correctness.
Mentor engineers and drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and excellence.
