Job summary

ByteDance's AI Platform team in San Jose is offering an internship for students to gain hands-on experience in building end-to-end AI production pipelines, including training, optimization, deployment and applications.

Interns will work with engineers and researchers on large-scale ML systems, cross-platform tools, and optimization techniques while exploring career paths through workshops and mentoring during Summer 2027.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master's in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2027
• Strong CS fundamentals (algorithms and data structures) and problem-solving skills
• Experience with C/C++/Java/Go/Python
• Experience dealing with concurrent systems and architectures.
• Experience with standard deep learning frameworks.
• Proficiency with profiling tools and optimization techniques

Responsibilities

• Design, architect and implement large-scale machine learning systems/infrastructure/services for computer vision, computer graphics and deep learning models.
• Build cross-platform applications to explore new technologies and new product directions.
• Work closely with research scientists to develop efficient algorithms and prototypes on various platforms.
• Build automation frameworks and tools to ensure high engineering quality and efficiency
