Job summary

Koch Companies is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build, and ship AI-enabled applications. You will leverage AI coding tools, collaborate with product/design/platform teams, and ensure delivery within fast-paced enterprise contexts.

The role emphasizes prototyping, productionizing AI-generated apps, and integrating AI tooling into internal products while upholding responsible AI usage. A strong foundation in modern programming and Agile practices is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years in software development with exposure to AI coding assistants or agentic development tools.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Golang) with frontend/backend exposure.
• Understanding of software engineering basics (Git, testing, code review) and willingness to adopt AI-generated code.
• Strong teamwork and communication with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in fast-moving, evolving environments.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship internal and customer-facing apps using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development.
• Translate rough ideas into prototypes and working applications through iterative development.
• Collaborate with product/design/platform teams to prototype, test, and refine concepts quickly.
• Establish and follow best practices for AI-assisted development, including code review and prompt engineering.
• Ensure applications are containerized and integrated into CI/CD and GitOps workflows (Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD).
• Evaluate emerging AI tools and advocate adoption where they improve velocity or quality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and refine AI-generated code for quality, performance, and security.
• Contribute to internal docs and playbooks to promote AI development practices.
• Monitor deployed apps using observability data and user feedback, iterate as needed.
• Support broader platform engineering tasks including infra, deployment, and operations.
