Job summary

ThirdLayer, Inc. is seeking engineers who have deeply worked on production AI systems. You’ll own core platform components, collaborate with customers to pressure-test what we’re building, and close the loop with learnings that feed back into the product.

The role spans context capture, agent orchestration, feedback loops, and scalable real-time systems. You’ll contribute to evolving pipelines, ship AI-powered workflows, and partner with customers to solve high-leverage problems while building

Qualifications

• Built production AI or LLM-based systems and can discuss engineering tradeoffs in detail.
• Took ideas to production and can describe evolution of the system.
• Experience building agents or autonomous systems.
• Strong communicator who can discuss technical decisions with teammates and customers.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the context capture and learning pipeline, building capabilities with customers and extracting patterns for the platform.
• Ship agent systems and AI-powered workflows from prototype to production.
• Collaborate with customers to identify high-leverage problems and deliver durable solutions.
• Build agentic features that learn from user behavior and adapt to new workflows.
• Develop evaluation and reliability infrastructure to determine when agents can act autonomously versus when to request input.
• Design systems that handle real-time ingestion and orchestration at scale.
• Shape the technical direction of the product.
