Job summary

Biorce in Austin, TX is seeking a Platform Architect to lead the orchestration layer and SDK powering our AI agents. You will set the technical direction for multi-tenant, durable systems that scale, ensuring reliability, performance, and security across production environments.

You’ll mentor Platform Engineers, collaborate with AI Scientists and Embedded AI Engineers, and shape standards for CI/CD, APIs, and shared infrastructure as we grow our AI open source platform in a fast-paced biotech

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience.
• 1–2 years building or operating AI/agentic platforms in production.
• Distributed systems design and operation in production.
• Proficiency in Python or a comparable language.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration, e.g., Kubernetes.
• Experience designing APIs and service boundaries at scale.
• Security fundamentals (authN/authZ, secrets management).
• Ability to set technical direction and standards for a team.
• Familiarity with open-source agentic AI libraries and/or durable-execution orchestrators.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical architecture for the orchestration layer powering AI agents in production.
• Own reliability, latency, and cost of agent execution at scale.
• Design and evolve a platform SDK used across AI engineering teams.
• Define multi-tenant isolation, quota management, and security boundaries.
• Partner with AI Scientists/Engineers to expose model capabilities via platform APIs.
• Set standards for CI/CD pipelines for agent deployment.
• Design API and model gateways for routing, rate limiting, and cost attribution.
• Collaborate with the broader platform team to harden shared infrastructure.
• Mentor Platform Engineers and review key architectural decisions.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for production systems.
