Job summary

Deltek, Inc. seeks an experienced software architect to lead architecture for the AI and Services platform, guiding service decomposition, scalability, and extensibility. You will collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to translate business needs into robust technical designs.

Ideal candidates have 10–15 years of leadership experience, strong UI integration skills, and a track record of mentoring teams while delivering cloud-native, microservices-based solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers and engineering leaders to understand project requirements and business objectives.
• Design system architecture, code review, technical documentation, and collaborate with product teams to align technical solutions with business requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to product teams, ensuring architectural decisions are well-understood and implemented.
• Share ownership of roadmap execution, architecture decisions, and day-to-day technical operations related to the AI and Services platform.
• Act as a key technical liaison between the AI and Services platform team and product stakeholders - translating business and product requirements into scalable technical designs, and communicating tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Guide the framework and services/microservices architecture underlying the AI and Services platform for extensibility as new AI capabilities are added.
• Partner with AI/ML engineers and product teams to integrate AI into the platform, evaluating emerging AI tooling and frameworks.
• Create and maintain documentation related to software architecture including system diagrams and design specs.
• Review code to ensure adherence to architectural standards, performance requirements and best practices.
• Stay updated on AI/agentic technologies and microservices trends to improve software architecture.
• Contribute to product decisions and drive technical innovation within the team.
