Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP seeks a Managing Director, AI Platform Architect to lead the founding AI Product Group’s architecture and platform design. You will shape agent harness, orchestration, retrieval, memory, and evaluation components, while guiding engineers and setting enterprise-grade standards.

The role requires deep hands-on expertise in LLM-based systems, a vendor-neutral stance, and strong leadership to drive architecture decisions across multiple teams and partners.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software/architecture with leadership

Responsibilities

• Own target-state architecture for AI product portfolio and ADRs
• Design agent platform patterns, integration and retrieval architectures
• Co-design intelligence substrate with substrate lead
• Set model-strategy and cost-per-outcome economics
• Hands-on technical leadership: prototype then harden patterns
• Review and shape product architectures with engineering teams
• Chair APG's technical design authority
• Lead absorption of partner patterns into firm-owned standards
• Establish evaluation-first engineering as architectural standard
• Define non-functional architecture with enterprise partners
• Co-own production handoff standards through gates
• Operate architecture with Enterprise Architecture
• Advise CAITO on build vs buy decisions across portfolio
• Mentor founding engineers and raise design quality
• Represent APG architecture in architecture forums and with leadership
• Engage in special projects and other duties
