Job summary

Cayuse Holdings is seeking an AI Native Engineer (contractor) to build and maintain harness components, implement features, agents, and MCP integrations using Claude Code. This remote, ASAP-start role is 6–8 months with renewal potential, paying $70–$100 per hour via 1099/C2C.

You will collaborate with senior engineers on architecture and system-level challenges, require hands-on AWS delivery, and operate across frontend Python back-end pipelines. PST overlap is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering AWS-based data and backend solutions.

AI Native Engineer (Context Engineer / Harness Engineer) A hands-on builder who implements features, agents, skills, and MCP integrations using Claude Code, working within an architecture defined by senior and principal engineers.

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains harness components (retrieval, tool invocation, evaluation, observability) under review, and contributes improvements back to the shared base harness.
• Works through architecture- and systems-level problems under senior review as the path to progression.

Qualifications

• Tech: Claude Code, React / TypeScript / JavaScript / Node.js front end, Python and backend data engineering, AWS (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Step Functions, API Gateway, Bedrock), Terraform, Playwright, Azure DevOps.
• Professional English fluency, written and verbal.
• AI-enabled and hands-on with Claude Code (or comparable agentic tooling).
• Timezone overlap of at least 5 hours with PST working hours (8am–6pm PST).
• Hands-on AWS delivery is required for the engineering roles
