Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a technically versatile engineer to build, configure, and maintain infrastructure and runtimes delivering AI/ML capabilities for developers in Pullman, WA. The role includes operations, deployments, integrations, and occasional model fine-tuning rather than direct model development.

You will work with Azure Foundry, Docker, Kubernetes, Transformers, and Python/C/C++ toolchains, focusing on validating deployments, automation, and integrating

Qualifications

• Experience with Python, pip/uv and Linux/Unix operations.
• Familiarity with Typescript, yarn/npm and modern NLP toolchains.
• Experience with Transformers, autoencoders, classifiers and lightweight ML workflows.

Responsibilities

• Maintain infrastructure and runtimes for AI/ML functionality for software developers.
• Develop automation harnesses for applied AI/ML and integrate with CI/CD toolchains.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
