Job summary

Google's Geo team seeks software engineers to enhance data quality and geometry for maps in 2D/3D, using AI/ML and geometric algorithms. You will contribute to data extraction and rendering of roads and lanes for Maps, Earth, Street View, and Maps Platform.

The role focuses on building scalable ML systems, collaborating across teams, and delivering high-quality map data at global scale. Must be adaptable across AI, data processing, and system design challenges within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience programming in Java, Python or C++.
• 1 year of experience with end-to-end machine learning (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
• 1 year of experience with computer vision, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or related ML field.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices across technologies.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing sources and impact on hardware, network, or service operations.
• Implement solutions in one or more specialized ML areas, utilize ML infrastructure, and contribute to model optimization and data processing.
