Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University’s Applied Research Laboratory in State College, PA is seeking an AI/ML Computer Science Research and Development Engineer to advance research in AI/ML, DL, and generative AI, translating concepts into deployable tech for sponsors.

You will conduct advanced research, develop models with PyTorch/TF/JAX, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, publish and present findings, and contribute to reproducible experiments and robust software practices.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in ML concepts including supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning.
• Hands-on model development using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Proficiency in Python and scientific libraries (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy).

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced research in AI/ML, software engineering, computational systems, or related fields.
• Develop novel methods, models, and technologies addressing AI challenges for sponsors.
• Communicate results through reports, publications, and presentations to stakeholders.
