Job summary

Whatnot is seeking an AI/ML Platform Engineer to design and scale the core infrastructure that powers machine learning across the company. You will work with ML scientists to productionize models, enabling faster experimentation and robust services at scale.

You will own inference stacks, distributed training pipelines, and GPU‑backed workloads, shaping how Whatnot delivers intelligent features across its live commerce platform. This role supports remote work with US hub collaboration.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional ML systems experience.
• BS in CS, Stats, Applied Math or equivalent.
• 3+ years of software engineering for production systems.
• 1+ year Python development.
• Experience with cloud platforms and services.
• Familiarity with DBs PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously across multiple product areas.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools.
• Team collaboration in remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure powering AI/ML models across surfaces.
• Prototype, deploy, and productionalize novel ML architectures.
• Design and scale inference infrastructure with low latency and high throughput.
• Build distributed training and inference pipelines with GPUs.
• Take on new technical challenges as we scale AI.
