Sigma is seeking an AI/ML PhD Intern to join a growing team building the AI foundation powering Sigma's platform. You will work on innovations that enable analysts to explore data and build intelligent workflows.

As a PhD student, you’ll conduct research across AI/ML topics, prototype systems, and help bridge research with production deployments. You’ll collaborate with a fast-moving startup culture and gain exposure to real-world data apps.

Qualifications

• Current PhD student studying AI/ML at a U.S. accredited university.
• Deep understanding of machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
• Experience building production-grade AI/ML systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct original AI/ML research in search, recommendations, NLP, and agentic workflows.
• Prototype and productionize AI systems that feel intuitive and powerful.
• Tackle UX problems at the AI analytics interface.
• Contribute to scalable AI/ML infrastructure for experimentation and evaluation.
