Job description

S&P Global Ratings' Data Services team brings deep expertise across critical Ratings data domains, AI/ML and Generative AI solutions, technology platforms, and architectural patterns.

We are a tight-knit group of engineers, data scientists, and architects who hold ourselves to the highest standards of precision and scalability — because the platforms we build underpin decisions that move global markets. This is a rare opportunity to help architect the next generation of S&P Ratings' analytics platform from the ground up, with the autonomy and seniority to leave a lasting mark.

Responsibilities and Impact
  • Define and deliver scalable AI and machine learning solutions by partnering directly with business stakeholders to translate complex Ratings data requirements into production-grade architectures.
  • Architect and deploy end-to-end ML and Generative AI pipelines — from ideation to production — in close collaboration with cross-functional data science and engineering teams.
  • Drive measurable business outcomes by analysing large-scale Ratings datasets and generating data-driven insights that directly inform analytical and operational decisions.
  • Build and optimise the platforms, services, and tooling that evaluate, fine-tune, and scale machine learning models for enterprise performance and reliability.
  • Set the technical standard — champion best practices, reusable AI capabilities, and modern engineering standards across the Data Services organisation.
  • Accelerate innovation by researching and applying emerging AI and machine learning technologies that keep S&P Ratings at the frontier of the market.
What We're Looking For
Basic Required Qualifications
  • 10 years of professional experience designing and deploying AI, machine learning, or data-driven solutions on AWS cloud platforms, including demonstrated ownership of production-scale workloads.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of Python development in production environments, using ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn); plus expert-level SQL proficiency across structured and unstructured datasets.
  • 5+ years of Java application development with Spring Boot; production-grade deployment experience with Docker and Kubernetes in containerised environments.
  • Demonstrated production experience building or deploying AI agents, autonomous workflows, or agentic AI frameworks; with applied expertise in deep learning, NLP, and generative AI principles.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated use of AI orchestration frameworks — LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, ADK, or Strands — in production AI systems.
  • Applied experience with graph technologies and graph-based algorithms in a data or analytics context.
  • 3+ years of data engineering, data preparation, and feature engineering for machine learning pipelines.
  • Proven experience architecting or operating data lakes or AI-ready large-scale data ecosystems.
  • Proficiency in distributed computing frameworks — Apache Spark or Hadoop — at production scale.
  • Demonstrated application of AI-native SDLC practices in a professional software development environment.
