Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems in Austin, TX is seeking an AI/ML Engineer Intern to contribute to rapid development initiatives using AI/ML tools and platforms. You will evaluate trends, run PoCs, and help build scalable AI models and pipelines tailored to business use cases.

You will collaborate across data, engineering, and software teams, applying Python, SQL, and CI/CD practices while gaining hands-on experience with cloud AI services and containerized deployments.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Streamlit, R Shiny, Matplotlib).
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Experience with unit testing, CI/CD, Git, and containerization (Docker).
• Familiarity with data pipelines and ETL (Airflow, Prefect, or cloud-native equivalents).
• Understanding of model deployment (REST APIs, gRPC, serverless) and monitoring.
• Knowledge of cloud AI services (AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI).
• Experience with cloud-native training/inference environments (SageMaker, Bedrock, Vertex AI, Azure ML).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with code assist tools (Claude code, Codex, Cursor).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate emerging AI trends and vendor solutions against business use-cases.
• Run proofs-of-concept to test feasibility of ideas.
• Design and build AI/ML models and applications for use cases like predictive analytics, NLP, and computer vision.
• Create scalable AI pipelines integrable with existing systems.
• Collaborate with data, engineering, and software development teams.
