GLOBALFOUNDRIES is building analytics capabilities to support data-driven decision-making in semiconductor manufacturing, and the Analytics Center of Excellence is expanding with a new early-career AI/ML Analytics Engineer. This onsite role in Malta, NY focuses on turning manufacturing data into actionable insights, from predictive modeling to agentic solutions, while partnering across Digital Manufacturing and cross-functional teams.
Role focus
- Define project objectives, deliverables, success measures, and timelines in partnership with the Analytics Center of Excellence Digital Manufacturing Manager
- Support the design, development, programming, testing, and documentation of analytics methods, processes, and systems across multiple use cases
- Understand business needs with manufacturing, engineering, and other cross-functional teams and translate requirements into measurable, data-driven approaches
- Build predictive models, algorithms, and agentic solutions for real-world manufacturing problems
- Communicate findings, limitations, and recommendations to technical stakeholders and Fab leadership using SMART objectives and clear measures of value
Data and analytics work
- Collect, clean, integrate, and preprocess large datasets from multiple sources
- Apply statistical analysis, visualization, and machine learning to identify patterns, trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities
- Evaluate and implement predictive models and analytics solutions, including reproducible analytical workflows
Safety and compliance
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner
- Support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Required qualifications
- Graduating with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited degree program
- Overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing
- English (Written & Verbal)
Preferred qualifications
- Prior related internship or co-op experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, or similar settings
- Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision-making
- Project management skills, including the ability to innovate, execute solutions, and navigate ambiguity
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Coursework, research, internship, or project experience in statistical analysis, machine learning, predictive modeling, data visualization, or digital manufacturing analytics
- Programming experience with Python, R, SQL (or similar), including data preparation, model evaluation, visualization, and reproducible analytical workflows
- Programming experience building agentic solutions, including rapid prototyping, developing new features, and scaling solutions
