Job summary

Google is seeking a software engineer to advance TPU efficiency at scale within the Ads Training Runtime team. You will drive stability, hardware enablement, and migration of large Ads models to JAX, while leading cross-stack optimizations and robust debugging to deliver major efficiency gains.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of programming in Python or C++.
3 years with ML infra, ML frameworks or hardware accelerators.
3 years testing, maintaining, or launching software; 1 year in software design/architecture.
Experience with large-scale distributed systems and performance debugging.
Master's or PhD in CS preferred; 5 years in data structures and algorithms; leadership experience; accessibility knowledge.

Responsibilities

Write and test product or system development code.
Collaborate through design and code reviews to ensure best practices.
Contribute to existing documentation and adapt content to updates.
Triage issues and debug across hardware, network, or service operations.
Design and implement ML solutions leveraging ML infrastructure and cross-stack optimizations.
