Job summary

NewsBreak is building Nearby AI, a trust-first marketplace for local home services. Founding Associates join the marketing and operational groundwork, split across two tracks with cross-learning. You’ll draft ad copy, source local content, and conduct outreach to homeowners and providers.

Two tracks exist; success metrics focus on concrete results, with strong emphasis on outbound communication, interviews, and data gathering. This role offers a collaborative, evidence-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a rigorous undergraduate or graduate program, with a strong academic record.
• At least one initiative you started yourself, such as a club, business, research project, campaign, or publication, with results you can show.
• Strong written communication. A short writing sample is requested with your application.
• Comfortable with outbound work: calling strangers, running structured interviews, or pitching an idea to someone who did not ask for it.
• Working proficiency with spreadsheets and with AI tools as a daily working method.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Marketing or Operations track; spend part on the other track so the cohort learns both sides of the business.
• Help build the data-backed local pages and guides that form the company's organic channel.
• Recruit and interview homeowners about hiring decisions and document findings for product teams.
• Gather pricing data and document real-world pricing by category and region for benchmarks.
