What You’ll Do & The Impact You’ll Have

You will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction and success of our platform. As a key contributor, you will design and troubleshoot some of our most complex features and technical improvements, driving large projects that span multiple teams and services. Your broad view of engineering will help identify technical efficiencies and anticipate customer needs, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Your Contributions Will Include

• Leading complex, cross‑functional projects focused on machine learning applications and data science, independently defining requirements and assignments.
• Collaborating closely with Product Managers to refine features and provide accurate estimates, ensuring alignment with customer needs.
• Proactively identifying and resolving technical bottlenecks and roadblocks, ensuring smooth project progression.
• Initiating and leading cross‑team discussions to drive process and architecture improvements.
• Designing robust integrations with third‑party services and various application components.
• Shaping the short to medium‑term strategic technical direction, identifying future needs and crafting improvement plans (6‑12 month outlook).
• Authoring comprehensive technical designs that span multiple system components.
• Mentoring and coaching team members, sharing deep subject matter expertise in technical and business areas.
• Actively participating in the agile development process, including standups, planning, and retrospectives, ensuring commitments are met and blockers are resolved.
• Fostering a collaborative environment, encouraging teamwork and knowledge sharing.
• Managing releases and coordinating cross‑team dependencies effectively.
• Prioritizing work in alignment with strategic goals through collaboration with peers.
• Demonstrating exceptional problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills, always ready to assist others in achieving team objectives.
• Staying abreast of the latest advancements in the field to continuously innovate.
• Participating in interviews, contributing to the growth of our engineering team.

Must‑Have Qualifications

• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
• Deep expertise in modern web application development.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Python.
• Expert knowledge of feature engineering, preprocessing techniques, and machine learning algorithms.
• Proven ability to translate high‑level business goals into actionable datasets, propose appropriate objective functions, and successfully train and productionize machine learning models.
• Hands‑on experience with scikit‑learn and pandas.
• Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• A strong conceptual understanding of Transformer architectures.
• Experience designing and implementing solutions with task queues and distributed systems.
• Demonstrated ability to build highly fault‑tolerant systems.
• Expert‑level proficiency with Git for version control.
• Proficient with Docker.
• Exceptional problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
• Excellent design and organizational skills.
• Superior communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and oversight.
• A commitment to continual improvement and self‑learning.

Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms.
