Job summary

Marist University invites applications for an AI Literacy Specialist to advance responsible, applied AI across teaching, learning, and operations. The role builds a scalable AI learning ecosystem, tailoring programming to diverse populations including faculty, staff, and students.

The specialist coordinates across the Office of Digital Education and collaborates with Marist + AI, AI Academy, and the Center for Teaching and Learning to align programming with institutional priorities.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years teaching or facilitating training on AI literacy or digital tools
• Experience using generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot)
• Able to translate technical concepts into practical applications
• Strong presentation and communication abilities
• Experience collaborating across teams or departments

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver AI literacy programming for faculty, staff, and students
• Provide audience-specific training and office hours
• Promote responsible use of generative AI in academic and operational settings
• Partner with departments to identify AI use cases and deliver guidance
• Develop and maintain AI resource hubs in Brightspace with guides and sample materials
• Support development of AI microcredentials, badges, and certificates
• Collaborate with IT and teaching leadership to align programming with institutional strategy
• Assist instructional designers to integrate AI into course design and assessment
• Foster communities of practice and gather feedback on programs
