The UVA AI Literacy and Action Lab, a joint initiative launched in April 2026 by the UVA Library and the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, equips students and faculty with the skills to approach AI use critically and ethically. It is a structured, evidence‑producing program where students and faculty develop AI judgment by working on real projects in their own disciplines, supported by trained librarian facilitators and grounded in a published scholarly framework. In response to the rapid adoption of AI in higher education, the Lab promotes understanding, ethical judgment, and practical experimentation.
