Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an AI Intern to support Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing solutions at its Innovation Center in MxD, Chicago. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and document AI-enabled manufacturing use cases and gain hands-on experience with MES, SCADA, PLC, sensors, and robotics.

The internship runs for 8 weeks starting in October 2026 and is onsite in Chicago, IL (3 days per week), paying $25.00 per hour.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in a STEM field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering).
Ability to work part-time, 20 hours per week for the internship duration.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven teamwork and leadership capabilities with a client-service mindset.
Proven Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

Develop and implement digital manufacturing use cases with cross-functional teams.
Gain hands-on experience with MES, SCADA, PLC, machines, wireless sensors, cameras, and cobots/robots.
Train AI models by creating data, documents, images, and videos for model training.
Support client visits and demos, documenting topics and helping control AV and streaming.
Stay current with advancements in digital manufacturing technologies and tailor solutions to client needs.
