Job summary

Google is seeking software engineers to shape the next generation of at-scale compute hardware and related software. You will join a team building an on-premises AI supercomputer and contribute to software infrastructure that enables secure data locality and high performance.

The role involves defining architecture, advancing automation, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions, with a focus on Kubernetes, Temporal, and custom orchestration tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience in one or more languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 5 years building large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, compute/storage hardware architectures.
• 5 years testing and launching software products.
• 3 years experience with software design and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical roadmap and architecture for inventory and fleet management, focusing on Temporal orchestration and automated node remediation.
• Own architectural decisions for the platform in collaboration with leadership across teams.
• Establish and maintain machine health SLOs and improve fleet-wide observability.
• Promote engineering excellence with shared responsibility models and robust guardrails.
• Coach and mentor engineers to grow their impact.
