Job summary

Tessera Labs is hiring an AI Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and own tooling that moves Tessera's AI agents from laptop to production in customer clouds. You will write production-grade software in Python or Go, manage Kubernetes deployments, and work on LLM serving stacks like vLLM.

Expect mid-to-senior level responsibilities with architectural input and mentorship. The role emphasizes building robust infrastructure, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines, while ensuring security and compliance

Qualifications

• 5+ years in infrastructure/backend engineering (7+ for senior)
• Strong Python/Go tooling experience building CLIs or services
• Hands-on experience running LLM workloads in production (vLLM or similar)
• Experience building AI agent infrastructure: orchestration, tool calling, runtimes
• MLOps: versioning, evaluation, release pipelines, observability
• Kubernetes deep dive: operators/controllers (Kubebuilder/Operator SDK)
• Terraform across Azure/GCP/AWS or Oracle Cloud
• CI/CD systems ownership, GitOps-driven deployments
• Strong networking fundamentals
• Experience deploying/operating real production systems

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal CLIs, SDKs, and services in Python/Go to deploy AI agents
• Deploy, scale, and tune LLM inference with vLLM and similar stacks
• Create infrastructure for multi-agent systems: runtimes, tool execution, sandboxing
• Own MLOps workflows: model/prompt versioning, evaluation, artifact registries
• Write Kubernetes operators/controllers to manage Tessera AI workloads
• Design and operate production-grade AI agent infrastructure on Kubernetes and Terraform
• Support portable infra across cloud providers with ownership of at least one variant
• Improve observability: tracing, token/GPU utilization, latency, costs
• Strengthen security/reliability under strict compliance constraints
• Design CI/CD for infra/services/model releases using GitOps
• Build self-service tooling for environment provisioning and secret rotation
• Partner with AI/product/platform teams to unblock delivery
• Champion automation-first mindset and production-grade observability
