Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Software Engineer to build, configure, and maintain infrastructure and runtimes powering AI/ML capabilities for SEL developers in Pullman, WA. The role blends Ops work with development and research tasks, focusing on deployment validation and lightweight model tuning.

You will work with Python, C/C++, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, integrating Azure Foundry and on-prem tooling.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python, pip/uv
• Familiarity with TypeScript, yarn/npm
• Familiarity with transformers, autoencoders, classifiers
• Basic Linux/Unix ops skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain infrastructure and runtimes for AI/ML applications.
• Develop automation harnesses and integrate with CI/CD and DevOps tooling.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs and guide prioritization.
