Job summary

A defense contracting company is seeking an AI IC Mission Engineer (Mid) to develop and implement AI/ML solutions tailored to national security needs. In this role, you'll collaborate with analysts and mission partners to understand operational requirements, while working on projects that have a direct impact on defense capabilities. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of AI/ML engineering experience and an active TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required, ability to obtain CI Polygraph preferred.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.

The AI IC Mission Engineer (Mid) develops and implements AI/ML solutions tailored to Intelligence Community mission requirements, working closely with analysts and operators to translate operational needs into technical capabilities. Opportunity to work on real‑world projects that directly impact warfighter capabilities and mission success.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI/ML models for IC‑specific use cases
• Collaborate with mission partners to understand operational requirements
• Implement model training, validation, and deployment pipelines
• Conduct performance analysis and optimization of AI systems
• Support integration of AI capabilities into existing IC workflows
• Participate in technical reviews and capability demonstrations
• Maintain awareness of emerging AI technologies and their mission applications
• Ensure AI solutions meet security and compliance requirements

Qualifications

• 5+ years of AI/ML engineering experience
• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain CI Polygraph required
• Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn, etc.)
• Understanding of IC mission domains and operational environments
• Proficiency in Python, R, or similar data science languages
• Knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques
• AWS experience highly preferred but not required
• Military experience strongly preferred

This is a full‑time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and is not eligible for overtime pay. Compensation for this position is provided on a salaried basis and is not subject to reduction based on hours worked.
