Job summary

Summit Tech Partners is seeking an AI Governance & Risk Specialist to guide governance for enterprise AI initiatives. You will coordinate with business, technology leaders, and AI engineers to ensure proper review, documentation, monitoring, and governance throughout the AI lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Experience in AI governance, technology risk management, cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, or similar AI ecosystems.
  • Understanding of AI governance frameworks, policy management, and control implementation.
  • Experience managing technology inventories, application portfolios, or governance repositories.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy requirements, DLP, identity management, and access control principles.
  • Experience creating operational reports, dashboards, KPIs, and governance metrics.
  • Understanding of AI workflows, automation technologies, and intelligent agent concepts.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational governance activities for AI applications, copilots, and agent-based solutions.
  • Maintain and oversee the organization's inventory of AI assets, ensuring accurate documentation and ownership records.
  • Evaluate new AI initiatives for security, privacy, compliance, and operational readiness requirements.
  • Review data access, integrations, connectors, identity controls, and information management practices associated with AI solutions.
  • Track governance activities, control effectiveness, risk classifications, approvals, and review cycles.
  • Monitor AI adoption metrics, platform utilization, operational performance, and cost-management thresholds.
  • Produce dashboards, reports, and executive summaries that provide visibility into the organization's AI portfolio.
  • Partner with engineering teams throughout the AI development lifecycle to ensure governance requirements are incorporated early in the process.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of Responsible AI policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Help establish scalable governance frameworks that enable innovation while managing enterprise risk.

About the Opportunity

Our client is expanding its enterprise AI capabilities and is seeking an AI Governance & Risk Specialist to help create the processes, oversight, and controls that support responsible AI adoption. This role will serve as a central point of coordination between business teams, technology leaders, and AI engineers to ensure AI solutions are properly reviewed, documented, monitored, and governed throughout their lifecycle.

This position is ideal for someone who understands AI technologies beyond a compliance perspective and can engage in meaningful conversations with developers, architects, and platform teams. The successful candidate will combine governance expertise with technical knowledge of AI, copilots, automation platforms, and intelligent agent solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Understanding of how AI assistants, copilots, and intelligent agents are developed, configured, and deployed.
Ideal Candidate
