Apt is seeking a Platform Engineer to establish an enterprise AI platform, implement the AI gateway, and work with LLMs and AI agents to drive automation. The role focuses on building a robust technical foundation as the organization expands its AI capabilities.

You will own platform development, partner with internal teams, and help shape the technical direction in a rapidly evolving environment, requiring hands-on AI experience and a drive to learn.

Platform Engineer focused on helping establish and build out a new enterprise AI platform. This individual will help implement the AI gateway, work with LLMs and AI agents, support automation, and help the organization establish the technical foundation needed to transition further into AI. The role is intentionally evolving, so the ideal candidate combines hands-on AI experience with strong aptitude, adaptability, and the ability to build in a new environment.

This is a new platform engineering capability. The organization is moving further into AI and needs someone who can take ownership of establishing the AI platform and gateway capabilities.

Day to day responsibilities:

• Help build and establish the company’s AI platform.


• Help implement the Kong AI Gateway.


• Work with LLMs and AI agents.


• Support AI-related automation.


• Take ownership of the platform as it develops.


• Work with internal teams as the organization expands its use of AI.


• Help define technical direction as the platform and role continue to evolve.

Must have skills:

• Hands-on LLM experience.


• Experience building or working with AI agents.


• AI platform or related AI engineering experience.


• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn emerging technologies.


• Strong aptitude and willingness to learn.


• Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving requirements.


• Able to take ownership without needing a completely defined roadmap.


• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

• Previous AI gateway experience.
