Job summary

Central Insurance is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Personal Lines Policy Team in a hybrid, full-time role based in Ohio. You will contribute to a large modernization initiative, delivering quality features and influencing technology choices to improve cost-to-serve and delivery speed.

You will apply AI-first development, review AI outputs for correctness, and ensure comprehensive testing and security.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 2 years related experience, or 4 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Practice AI-first development using AI tools to generate code, tests, and design options.
• Evaluate when AI-driven solutions are appropriate and implement them.
• Maintain testing and quality standards with strong unit/integration testing.
• Own delivery from design through implementation with reviews and artifacts.
• Translate high-level objectives into concrete implementation plans and tasks.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to implement changes.
• Participate in peer reviews, RFCs, pairing, and design discussions to improve solutions.
