Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to lead the data architecture for a hybrid cloud data mesh supporting real-time air traffic management. You will drive governance, standards, and event-driven integrations across legacy and modern systems, with a focus on data quality and AI-enabled development practices.

The role requires U.S. citizenship, a Public Trust, and readiness to work in a hybrid model with onsite locations in Gaithersburg, MD, Egg Harbor Township, NJ, or Eagan, MN.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of data architecture leadership or 10+ years with a Master's degree.
• Experience delivering enterprise data mesh platforms at scale.
• Knowledge of data governance, contracts, and lineage.
• Able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Define the data mesh architecture including domain boundaries and data products.
• Establish enterprise data governance framework and standards.
• Design real-time streaming pipelines for operational aviation data.
• Architect event-driven data integration across platform services.
• Define data product standards including contracts, quality, and discoverability.
• Plan and oversee legacy data migration to the new platform architecture.
• Coordinate cross-ART data architecture decisions and dependencies.
• Implement metadata management and data cataloging solutions.
• Establish schema governance and data contracts for interoperability.
• Champion AI-first engineering practices to improve productivity and quality.
