Job summary

OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS cybersecurity, seeks a Director of Engineering for MetaDefender Email Security. You will own end-to-end engineering across on-premises and cloud deployments, drive AI-native development, and lead a distributed team from Romania and Hungary with a remote-first approach.

You report to the VP, Products, shaping the engineering strategy and delivery. You will personally lead architecture, code, reviews, and testing while building a high-performance culture

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years leading engineering teams
• Experience delivering AI-powered SDLC end-to-end across B2B/high-security environments

Responsibilities

• Lead AI-first engineering efforts across on-prem and cloud deployments
• Remain hands-on with critical code and architecture decisions
• Own end-to-end delivery of the product roadmap
• Set architectural direction for high-assurance environments
• Build and lead distributed teams across Romania, Hungary, and remote locations
• Drive performance-based management and culture across the portfolio
• Maintain security-focused code review and incident response practices
• Establish AI-native playbooks and review norms for consistency
• Collaborate with VP, Products and cross-functional leaders to align scope and timelines
