Job summary

Siemens Healthineers AG is seeking a Research Intern – AI Fellow to contribute to expert image annotation, model evaluation, and clinical insights within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on radiology-driven AI research and multimodal imaging data handling.

The position targets motivated students with exposure to radiology workflows and a drive to grow in AI-driven healthcare innovations. Flexible environments and professional development are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Radiology experience in chest imaging is preferred.
• Current enrollment in a foreign degree- or certificate-granting program outside the United States or recent graduate (<= 12 months).

Responsibilities

• Perform expert image annotation and structured reporting to support supervised learning for tasks such as detection, classification, segmentation, and quantification.
• Collaborate closely with AI scientists, software developers, and clinical researchers to refine model performance and provide clinical insights.
• Review and validate AI-generated outputs against radiologist standards to assess diagnostic quality and safety.
• Participate in dataset curation, quality control, and protocol development for multimodal imaging data (e.g., chest X-ray, CT, MRI).

This is a role well suited for a highly motivated student looking to build their skill set and gain hands‑on experience. As a Research Intern – AI Fellow, you will be responsible for:

• Perform expert image annotation and structured reporting to support supervised learning for tasks such as detection, classification, segmentation, and quantification.
• Collaborate closely with AI scientists, software developers, and clinical researchers to refine model performance and provide clinical insights.

Required skills and education to have for the success of this role:

• Currently enrolled in and pursuing studies at a foreign degree- or certificate-granting post‑secondary academic institution outside the United States OR Has graduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to his or her exchange visitor program start date.

The base pay range for this position is: $47,840 - $74,989

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
