Job summary

Alpha School in Dorado, Puerto Rico is seeking a Reading Interventionist to design and deliver AI-augmented reading workshops for K-2 students, targeting phonics, fluency, and comprehension gains. You will leverage progress data to adapt instruction and collaborate with engineers on literacy tools.

Work is on-site in Dorado with relocation support provided. A bachelor’s is required, plus a master’s or certified literacy credential and 2+ years of structured reading instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any subject, plus either a Master's in reading instruction or a structured literacy certification such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, IMSE, CERI, LETRS, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent
• 2+ years of recent, full-time K-2 structured reading instruction in a school or clinical setting, using systematic phonics or structured literacy
• Skilled at administering and analyzing reading assessments, grouping students, and designing differentiated reading lessons without relying on a scripted curriculum
• An energetic, engaging presence with K-2 students, plus fluency in English and Spanish
• Proficient with AI or adaptive learning tools, able to interpret student performance data, and willing to adapt as the tools change

Responsibilities

• Delivering adaptive reading workshops building phonics, comprehension, and fluency skills
• Designing personalized motivational sessions using gamified literacy milestones
• Analyzing student progress data to refine instruction and surface actionable insights
• Collaborating with engineers to evaluate and enhance AI literacy tools based on classroom results
• Developing scalable, AI-enhanced content that enables early elementary students to achieve grade-level proficiency
