Job summary

Metalight Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced AI Engineer Senior Level in New York, NY to design and implement production-grade LLM-powered AI systems for Finance and Operations.

You will build scalable back-end services, automate workflows, and ensure observability and governance across enterprise platforms. The role requires 7–10+ years of software engineering, 2+ years with LLM/AI apps, and strong Python/Java expertise.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on production experience with LLM/AI applications.
• Strong programming expertise in Python and Java.
• Experience with OpenAI/Claude/Anthropic APIs; prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop LLM-powered AI agents for enterprise workflow automation.
• Build integrations between AI agents and internal enterprise systems via REST APIs, SQL databases, and MCP servers.
• Develop multi-step AI workflows for document processing, data validation, and operational automation.
• Implement guardrails, output validation, human-in-the-loop workflows, audit trails and cost tracking.
• Create reusable AI engineering frameworks for prompt management, evaluation and context orchestration.
• Ensure observability through logging, monitoring, decision tracing and agent action visibility.
