Job summary

Goliath Partners in San Francisco is seeking a senior AI systems engineer focused on agent infrastructure, LLM systems, and model orchestration. You will turn foundation-model advances into dependable, production-grade AI applications for enterprise clients.

You'll work across applied AI research and software engineering to build scalable, multi-model solutions, optimize prompts, retrieval and routing strategies, and shape the technical direction of a fast-growing AI company.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing and deploying LLM-based products, autonomous agents, or AI-driven automation systems.
• Strong foundations in computer science from a top academic institution (BS/MS/PhD).
• Experience turning research concepts into robust, production-quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain infrastructure powering AI agents, including tool execution, state, memory, and workflow coordination.
• Build agent systems capable of reasoning through and executing multi-stage business processes.
• Develop model orchestration and routing systems to pick the best model or strategy for a task.
• Create an adaptable AI infrastructure layer supporting multiple model providers and evolving capabilities.
• Design evaluation pipelines to measure agent quality, reliability, and performance and catch regressions.
• Establish benchmarks and testing methodologies for complex agent workflows beyond conventional methods.
• Translate advances in LLMs, agent frameworks, and tool use into scalable production capabilities.
• Prototype and iterate across prompting, retrieval, fine-tuning, model selection, and agent design.
• Influence architecture and technical roadmap as the organization scales.
• Contribute to building and expanding a high-performing AI engineering team.
