Job summary

Kansas City National Security Campus in Kansas City, MO is seeking an on-site AI/ML engineer to support the full lifecycle of AI—from end-to-end design and development through productionization and ongoing support.

Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into AI system specifications, design production-grade pipelines for training, validation, deployment and monitoring, and apply CI/CD along with modern orchestration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in computer science, data science, or related technical activities.
• Ability to travel 0–10% as required by business needs.
• Ability to work on-site in Kansas City, MO.
• Regular and reliable attendance is essential.
• United States citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.

This on-site role in Kansas City, MO supports the full lifecycle of AI, from end-to-end design and development through productionization and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI and ML models and algorithms using disciplined software engineering, including version control, automated testing, and thorough documentation.
• Design, build, and maintain production-grade pipelines for model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring, applying CI/CD and modern orchestration and deployment practices.
• Optimize model performance for latency, throughput, and resource utilization to support real-time manufacturing or business requirements.

• Ability to obtain and maintain, if required, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance. Some positions require additional DOE designations.

• Ability to create actionable visualizations or dashboards that surface model performance, data quality, and operational metrics.
• Experience with API development, microservices architecture, and Git-based version control.
• Hands-on experience deploying AI applications on Azure or AWS.
• Solid understanding of LLMs, NLP, and RAG.
