Job summary

SpaceX is looking for an AI Engineer to join their Special Programs team in Washington, D.C. This role will involve designing and deploying AI capabilities for U.S. federal agencies, ensuring that solutions are efficient and uphold safety and ethical standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, experience in software engineering, and proficiency in Python. A necessary condition of employment is the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or STEM, or 2+ years of relevant experience.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience building scalable systems or APIs.
• Familiarity with public sector technology environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize integrations between AI models and government systems.
• Collaborate on custom SDKs, APIs, and developer tools.
• Ship production-grade code focusing on speed and simplicity.
