Job summary

Brex is seeking an AI Engineer to advance the Finance Agents team in San Francisco. You will build Brex's Agent Workbench, a singular surface for finance professionals to work with Brex's agents across documents, charts, and spreadsheets.

You will evolve the workbench into an extensible platform supporting multiple agent experiences, and own the extension model, integration protocols, and application architecture enabling other teams to bring their agents into a cohesive workspace.

Qualifications

5+ years of software development delivering customer-facing applications.
Experience building or contributing to a production-grade agent/workbench.
Experience in application architecture and integration design.
Deep familiarity with agent clients such as Claude, ChatGPT, and OpenCode.
Strong product judgment and ownership in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

Design and build a reusable agent workbench platform for multiple agent personas.
Design and implement extension models and integration protocols connecting agents with UI.
Develop customer-facing workflows integrating conversations with documents and data visuals.
Collaborate with frontend, product, and design to translate needs into cohesive experiences.
Own features from design through production, iterating on feedback to improve outcomes.
